Kol Haskalah Membership Application 2016/17

The Kol Haskalah Sunday School registration and Congregation memberships need to be renewed in preparation for the new year!

We hope to see many returning families as well as new members and families this year, and we hope that all the returning families have had a great summer. The Kol Haskalah teachers and faculty all hope that the returning families have had a great summer!

It’s Sukkot!

Kol Haskalah celebrated Sukkot with a presentation by our Sunday School’s Junior Division. We sang songs, learned about the holiday and shook the Lulav and Esrog.

A harvest holiday, Sukkot is often celebrated inside a sukka , a three-sided hut with a roof open to the sky, constructed especially for the event. Here families and communities are able to gather and eat a meal, share stories and enjoy the outdoors. For Humanistic Jews, Sukkot is a time to appreciate nature and the outdoors, and to celebrate Jewish identity with family and friends.

COME JOIN US AT UNC CHAPEL HILL, MURPHEY HALL

At our open house, we are pleased to welcome Kim’s White Tiger Championship Taekwondo Demo Team. The students from the Demo Team will be participating in a Kick-a-Thon to benefit shot@life. This organization educates, connects and empowers Americans to champion vaccines as one of the most cost effective ways to save the lives of children in developing countries. The Kick-a-Thon is the Mitzvah Project and brainchild of one of our Mitzvah students. Pledges are made either per kick or by a flat donation. Please contact us at info@kolhaskalah.org if you would like to sponsor a kicker.

Ice cream will be provided to start off a sweet and treaty new Sunday School Year! See you there!

Come join us for our Open House on Sunday August 26th 11:00 am to 12:30 pm

The Kol Haskalah Open House is coming up this month! Join us at Murphey Hall on the UNC Campus at 11:00 am.

Prospective members should plan to visit our open house at Murphey Hall between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm. For more information, email info@kolhaskalah.org. Drink coffee and enjoy a light brunch while you while you meet our members, learn more about our Sunday School and all that Kol Haskalah has to offer. Kids can spend some time creating a great project in one of the activity rooms.
